A large oil and gas field in the Astrakhan region, Russia, is for sale. Discovered in 2012. There are valid licenses for geological survey, exploration and production.
About the project:
- The project is of federal significance, reflected in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation;
- The project is supported by the regional authorities of the Astrakhan region;
- The concept for the implementation of the project provides, among other things, for the construction of a gas and oil refining complex, which will ensure the formation of a large vertically integrated structure of federal scale;
- Total investments in the project are estimated at over 100 billion rubles.
Deposit characteristics:
- The total area of the license area is 700 sq. km, refers to subsoil areas of federal significance;
- Well stock: 2 exploration and appraisal wells
- The field is classified as one of the largest explored in the Russian Federation
- The license area is located in an area with developed industrial infrastructure
- Possibility of using a pipeline for export oil deliveries (pumping agreement signed), and the capacities of domestic companies for oil refining
- Access to labor resources
- High-quality oil, close in characteristics to the URALS grade (GOST 51858-2002 - 2.0.1.1.)
- Absence of hydrogen sulfide in the gas composition

Growth Potential:
- Degree of exploration and The Tambovsky section as a whole allows us to predict the high potential of the field and the possibility of discovering more than 7 trillion cubic meters of gas in Devonian
deposits (the depth of productive deposits is over 6 thousand meters).
- Confirmation and transfer of reserves to higher categories.
- Conducting 3D seismic studies allows us to expect an increase in reserves and refinement of the development scheme.
- Additional exploration of the field.
- Discovery of gas fields in Devonian deposits;
- Discovery of fields in Mesozoic-Cenozoic deposits.
- Optimization of transportation costs due to the use of infrastructure on the L/U (and adjacent to it). Synergy from sharing infrastructure with other subsoil users.
- Savings on purchases and contractors for a company that already has assets in the region, and due to the scale of work on the field.
- Acquisition of adjacent sites from the unallocated subsoil fund and/or sites developed by neighboring companies.
- Possibility of tax benefits.
