Coltan and Rare Earth Metals Deposit in Venezuela
Investment is being proposed for the extraction of coltan and other rare earth metals at a deposit in Venezuela. The project has been approved by the Ministry of People's Power for the Development of Environmentally Friendly Mining of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The investment participation format is Purchase of a stake in a company holding the right to mine a concession area.
Deposit characteristics:
- This project is located in the state of Bolivar, in the southwestern part of the country (near the Orinoco River).
- The company holds the right to explore and mine minerals on a concession area of 7,651 hectares.
Geological surveys confirm the presence of the following minerals on the site, in quantities suitable for industrial production:
- coltan (columbite-tantalite, a valuable ore of niobium and tantalum)
- cassiterite
- zircon
- ilmenite
- gold

- a 70% stake in the company is offered for $4.4 million;
- the investor may also purchase a larger stake at a price to be determined during negotiations;
