Travertine deposit in Kyrgyzstan
A deposit of shell limestone (travertine) in the Kyrgyz Republic is for sale. There is a license for production (operation of the field) until 2035 with the possibility of extension to the new owner.
Travertine — calcareous tuff, polycrystalline brittle fine-grained homogeneous rock formed by calcium carbonate minerals, calcareous deposits of carbon dioxide springs. Can be sanded and polished. Due to its high decorative qualities, travertine is a valuable finishing material for the construction of buildings and interior decoration.
Travertine is widely used in the decoration of the Colosseum in Rome, St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican, 2 metro stations in St. Petersburg, the central mosque in Grozny, the stadium in Krasnodar, etc. Travertine is used in the form of decorative slabs and tiles without load (due to its porous structure and low specific gravity).
Deposit characteristics:
- mining is carried out in an open pit
- total area of the quarry — 50 hectares
- explored reserves of travertine — about 590 thousand cubic meters
- production is possible in volumes from 7 to 21 thousand cubic meters per year
- there are access roads to the mining site
- during the quarry it is possible to build a factory for the production of facing tiles
