Three investors are sitting at a bar discussing their portfolios.

The first investor says, “I invested all my money in Apple stock 10 years ago and now my portfolio is up 30%.”

The second investor replies, “And I bought Google stock 10 years ago and my portfolio has grown by 50%.”

The third investor silently drinks his cocktail and says nothing. The first two investors ask him: “What are your achievements?”

The third investor replies, “I didn't buy the shares. 10 years ago I invested all my money in this bar where you celebrate your successes all this time, and in 10 years I became richer twice.
