An operating open-pit coal mine in the Sakhalin Region, Russian Federation, is available for acquisition.

    Deposit characteristics

    • The deposit's coal-bearing potential is associated with the deposits of the Verkhneduy Formation. Seven workable coal seams have been identified in the upper section, and thirteen in the middle section, with average thicknesses ranging from 0.8 m to 2.8 m.
    • Coal grades include DG, GZhO, G6, G14, and GZh; the minimum calorific value ranges from 5,500 to 6,700 kcal/kg.
    • Coal reserves were approved by protocols from the USSR State Commission on Mineral Reserves (GKZ) in 1989 and the Sakhalinnedra Territorial Commission on Mineral Reserves (TKZ) in 2010.
    • Approved coal reserves for open-pit mining total 600,000 tonnes across various categories.
    • Coal reserves totaling 65,000,000 tonnes are present at the 400-meter horizon.
    • Remaining coal reserves on the subsoil user's balance sheet for open-pit mining areas were: OGR-1 – 244,000 tonnes; OGR-2 – 372,000 tonnes.
    • Remaining reserves in underground mining areas: Category C1 – approximately 45,000,000 tonnes; at the 250-meter horizon and below – 20,000,000 tonnes.
    • Balance-sheet methane reserves (Category C2): 141,987,000 m³.
    • Estimated prognostic methane resources: P1 – 1,222,525,000 m³; P2 – 217,478,000 m³.

    Asset Status, Infrastructure, and Logistics

    • The license is valid until 2029.
